Services provided by Haven Forensic.Family Court Services.
Family Court services are typically provided through agreement of parties and a Court Order. Our assessments and evaluations usually provide decision-makers information related to, and recommendations about, the most appropriate residential schedule for a child and the most appropriate structure for making child-related decisions. The information supplied through these assessments may assist the parents and/or judges in deciding on a plan that is in the best interests of the child for a particular family. These assessments and evaluation are incredibly comprehensive. Additional options with more limited scope can be considered as well as our involvement as a consultant or coordinator.

Forensic/Correctional Services - Children/Adolescents/Adults.
At Haven we are able to conduct a broad range of risk assessment services for a wide range of client populations. We accept referrals from the courts, lawyers, child-protective services, community agencies, and concerned parents and family. Further, we offer treatment and therapeutic interventions for those clients. Primary modes of therapy are individualized through both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Therapy (DBT). We can work with agencies and families to enhance individualized treatment, institute safety planning, target identified needs, and modify our approach to improve desistance. Training programs for staff, agencies, and students are regularly provided and group programs are periodically offered when demands permit.

Clinical Services - Adolescents/Adults.
The team at Haven Forensic Mental Health Clinic offers comprehensive assessments as well as individual therapy services to at-risk and justice-involved adolescents and young adults using evidence-based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
We serve clients who are experiencing any of the following: anxiety, depressed mood, impulsive behaviour, addictions, relationship difficulties, difficulty understanding or regulating intense emotions, or difficulty coping with ongoing or past stressors or traumatic life events. Additionally, our team is trained to provide treatment for individuals with histories of violent, sexual, or addiction related offending. Motivational enhancement is a major focus of our approach.
